Description
Cipro is an antibiotic used to treat and prevent infections caused by bacteria. It is also used to prevent anthrax infection in people who may have been exposed to it. It can also be used to treat certain types of urinary tract infections. This antibiotic will not work for viral infections like colds and flu. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How To Take
Cipro comes in a tablet form and taken by mouth with a full glass of water. It is usually taken twice a day in the morning and evening with or without food. It is best to take the tablets at regular intervals and finish the prescribed course of the drug. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Swallow tablet as a whole, do not break, chew or crush. If a dose is missed, take one a soon as possible. For more detailed information please see label and please consult specialist. Do not take more Ciprofloxacin than is indicated at the label without consulting a doctor. Continue to take this antibiotic even if you feel well, do not stop taking without talking to the doctor.
Precaution
This medicine may increase your risk for aortic aneurysm (bulge in the wall of the largest artery). Check with your doctor right away if you have sudden chest, stomach, or back pain, trouble breathing, cough, or hoarseness. Some people who take ciprofloxacin may become more sensitive to sunlight than they are normally.
