Description

Tamoxifen is a nonsteroidal agent which is used in both men and women to treat breast cancer. It is also used in women to prevent breast cancer. This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women. It is advised that you discuss all the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine. This medicine works by preventing the action of a specific hormone (estrogen) in the breast tissue. This medicine attaches to the hormone receptors present in the breast tissue and prevents estrogen from attaching to the receptors. This helps both in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

How To Take

Can be taken with or without food, as advised by your doctor. To be taken as instructed by doctor. Does not cause sleepiness. Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. Do not take in larger amounts than advised. It is advised to take this medicine at the same time every day. Ensure whether any clotting abnormalities are present before initiating the treatment. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable effects. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Precaution

This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women due to the potential for serious adverse effects on the unborn baby.
