Flagyl
Generic Flagyl (Metronidazole) - effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. It inhibits the growth of trichomonae and amoebae by binding to its DNA which results to the loss of its DNA helical structure by destructing its DNA strand, disrupting nucleic acid synthesis resulting to its cell death.

Description
Metronidazole is an antibiotic that is used to treat a wide variety of infections. It works by stopping the growth of certain bacteria and parasites. This antibiotic treats only certain bacterial and parasitic infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as the common cold, or flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. Metronidazole may also be used with other medications to treat certain stomach/intestinal ulcers caused by a bacteria (H. pylori).
How To Take
Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor. To prevent stomach upset, take this medication with food or a full glass of water or milk.
Precaution
Before taking metronidazole, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other antibiotics (such as tinidazole); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
